12. Where is the nearest doctor or hospital?
There is a Government clinic in Duncans, less than two miles from Silver Sands. A doctor is assigned there. There is also a private doctor in Duncans, five private doctors in Falmouth which is a 20 minute drive away, and a few in Discovery Bay and Runaway Bay which are about a half-an-hour's drive away. In Discovery Bay, there is also the Tretzel Medical Centre which is affliated with the Kaiser Bauxite Company.
There is a basic hospital in Falmouth which handles minor emergencies. All major cases are sent to Cornwall Regional Hospital, a major modern facility in Montego Bay. Additionally, there are private hospitals- Doctors' Hospital in Fairfield and Eldermire's Hospital in Montego Bay.
There is the brand new Hope Medical Centre with all the modern facilities offering twenty-four service at the Half Moon Shopping Complex, just an half hour's drive from Silver Sands.
When you arrive, you will receive a Welcome Package which will contain the details of doctors and hospitals with their addresses and telephone numbers.
