. . . Honeycomb Villa, June '01

Oooh my god, oooh my god!!!!

Where do I begin.....

Well everything was Irie at Rum Jetty.  Gloria's arrival dish was lobster. Our favorite of course.  We love those ladies, and were so happy to see them. We were ever so sad to have to go to Honeycomb.  Johnny B. came and got us and we went up the hill.

Pauline and Lorna were there and Ken Roy was just dashing in.  Of course it just wasn't 'home'..................for the first 5 minutes!!!!!!!

We walked around and oooohed and awed at the beautiful decor. Incredible use of color on the walls.  I grabbed my camera and started snapping off a bunch before we destroyed the place with bags and towels etc.

We snatched up the rooms we liked the best and headed out to the pool area.  Ken Roy introduced himself and advised us that he would be there in the evenings and would get us our beverages and serve us our dinner.  (We were flabbergasted actually.  I was almost embarrassed having someone wait on me so!)  He served us our drinks in the pool, on the deck, in the house.

The ladies are fantastic cooks and silently slipped away in the afternoon.  Ken Roy served the dinners after setting a gorgeous table with candles and the whole nine yards.  He silently moved around and picked up the dishes before we even realized he had done it. In the afternoon he would fold back the beds and turn on the A.C. in the bedrooms and close the doors so it was lovely and cold for sleeping.

The first night there Darren (Charles' son) came up with some carvings we had ordered and he stayed and had a few Red Stripes with us.  We asked Ken Roy to join us.  We had no idea that Ken Roy is a comedian as good as Oliver Samuels I would say.  We laughed until our stomachs ached.  The guy is hilarious!

Anyway we are now in such a predicament because in the future we will have to book a two week vacation.  7 days at each place!

Rum Jetty is like the 'beach cottage' and Honey Comb like visiting with Barbara Streisand ( I guess).  No one could decide which was better.  I must say though I sat out side one early evening cross legged on the chaise lounge with a fresh cup of coffee, reading one of the many great magazines and books in the house, overlooking the ocean and it was truly a 'died and gone to heaven moment in time'.

Johnny was great as usual.  They are so good to us, the whole bunch of them.  We are never ever ready to come home!

Bottom line.  Awesome stay.  Honey comb is definitely for those who are very very very picky, hard to please.  Its basically perfect! :-)

I am still amazed that I found your web site and had the nerve to book something over the Internet.  It was a lot of responsibility for me when we had 12 people traveling to a destination I had never been to before!  Wow what a find!

Thanks again for everything.  It could only have been better if we had won the lottery before we went down.
