Guests' Letters
Our ground transportation worked out really well. The only suggestion I would have is to better warn people about the length of the drive and road conditions going over to Black River Safari. It is really a long, long trip. But a good way to see how the Jamaican people live. One driver, Brian recommended the Luminous Lagoon....what a spectacular sight. We also went horseback riding at Braco stables. Lots of fun. Went fishing with Mr. Nelson and my husband caught a 25+ pound kingfish. We had better luck than the people who hired expensive charter boats. Dunn's River Falls was a blast. No need for a guide....and I am not your most athletic 50+ year old. And I loved it. Snorkeling was fun but not as spectacular as I had hoped. I have already recommended you to several friends. Your website was what convinced me...that and the great pricing structure. Julie Knudtsen
Oh...in case you get food cost questions, I can give you an idea of ours. We ate dinner out, only one night. And caught the fish for another dinner. So we had 5 nights, full breakfasts and not much lunch....some snacks, soda pop and mixers. Supermarket bill $300 Meat bill (chicken & pork) $17...still can't believe that is all it was. Fruit and vegetables $100 Lobster $35 Misc. snacks from Silver Sands Store $20 Total $472 for 7 people. We spent some at the bar and grill but not sure how much. Probably another $100 or so . Fishing for 3 people for 3 hours was about $200 including tips...trolling . Would have been less if we were bottom fishing. Snorkeling was about $10-15 per person. Favorite activity of group was definitely Dunns River Falls. But fishing was first for my husband...of course catching the only fish helped that. Horseback riding was my 17 year old sons favorite. He was allowed to run because he is pretty good rider. But he also went to an all Jamaican dance club with some of the locals he met...not sure if I would recommend that....but he got along fine as the only tourist there. He went with Omar from the Fishermans Beach and a few others. They also took him into Margueriteville by taxi, one night. That worried me also. But he is almost 18, 6'3" tall and pretty good at getting along in any situation. All for now
