"Our week at Silver Sands was spectacular and since we have returned I have passed on your web address to many people. The web site was instrumental in our decision to visit Silver Sands - it provided so much information and anticipated many of the questions a first time visitor might have. Our decision was reinforced when I learned that a colleague had visited Silver Sands four times and loved it.
We stayed at Oh Boy. From the moment we walked in, it felt familiar as a result of the many picutres on the web. Miss Eileen and Miss Evadne were very welcoming and ensured we had a terrific carefree week with lots of good food. Our party was made up of my husband and I, my mother, my 19 year old daughter and her friend. The vacation worked wonderfully for all of us.
The view from Oh Boy is incomparable and it was not a problem that there was no air conditioning. The constant trade winds and the ceiling fans ensured that the house stayed a comfortable temperature. The house was spacious and bright and (rare in our experience in the tropics) bug free. The entertainment room was wonderfully equipped with many videos which provided entertainment in the evenings.
Everyone we met was delightful - Trish (who met us at the airport); the two drivers (James and Mark); the staff at the patio and beach bar; Errol with whom we went snorkelling.
When we were considering renting a villa in Jamaica, I went to numerous websites doing research. I found that there was a huge range in estimated prices for food although your website contained the most tangible info. For your information, I have included the costs of food for our five adults for the week. All meals were eaten in the villa with the exception of one lunch in Ocho Rios. We ate a full cooked breakfast each day at about 10:30, each made our own light lunch about 2, and then had a full dinner in the evening. We spent a total of $500 Canadian (about $325 US). We ate lobster on two nights and fresh red snapper another two nights and lots of frsh vegetables and fruit. We do not drink much alcohol so this price only includes a case of beer.
We went to Silver Sands to spend a relaxing week in the sun. It was perfect in every way. Before going, the testimonials on the website made me question that everyone could have had such a great experience. Having now been to Silver Sands, my own review is equally positive. We certainly intend to come back.
