Guests' Letters . . . Seashell Cottage, August '01
New York, Oct 1, 2001 . . . Thanks for your e-mail regarding my stay at Silver Sands from July 25 to Aug 1, 2001. Sorry to write so late, I meant to contact you as soon as I got back from Jamaica. It was great! Much, much better than I had imagined the resort. It felt so private. There was no dreaded hotel atmosphere! I have already recommended you to friends. . . Our only problem: Mosquitos......... Do you know how to make the mosquitos go away.........?! Sylvan, our housekeeper and cook is a jewel (and I tried very hard to bribe her into coming home with me.....) Her cooking was superb. Every day was a delight to come home and find one of her delicious meals waiting in the oven. (I asked her specifically to cook local fare) Our driver, Tony, was very nice and super reliable. He took me and my friend on several excursions and we were most happy with his (expert) driving, tips and suggestions. I would love to come back and stay in the same house. I loved it's simplicity and much preferred it to, say, my cousin's modern villa. Also, the fact that it was just a stone's throw from the beach was a great plus. Again, I would love to come back as this 1-week's holiday was a most rewarding experience. Both my friend and I had, unfortunately, heard a lot of negative feedback from people who had visited Jamaica and had had bad luck. - (They had not been staying at Silver Sands, I don't want you to get the wrong impression, no, they had been to Ocho Rios and Negril and really did not like their stays.)
Both my friend and I regretted not having booked for 2 weeks! Well, hopefully next time! As a matter of fact, are any of the villas for sale? How would I have to go about it, if I were interested in buying one? Can you give me some information? Thank you for getting back to me at your convenience. Sincerely,
