Hi Prem,
. . .I hope you and your family had a nice holiday and are ready for the new year. I just returned from Michigan after seeing my parents and sister again and am now concentrating on getting all of my grad school applications/specifics out of the way, so this will provide a nice break from all that!
. . . My parents really like the home we stayed in - comfortable and open, the pool was a definite attraction.
. . . When I used ask.com to look for vacation rentals in Jamaica, one of the servers (yahoo, excite, etc.) listed CCV and Silver Sands. A huge plus with CCV I feel is its thorough web page - I can't say enough about how well organized I found it and how easy it was to use especially compared to what else is out there. I liked being able to see how much the houses were, when they were available, what they looked like, where they were located, etc. without having to call or email or send away for information. The convenience of doing it at any time of the day made it much more attractive to me. Pictures say A LOT, and there's no discrepancy in what to expect vs. what you get. The solid recommendations and option to contact past guests was reassuring also (but unnecessary/unused by us). A listing of what there is to do and how much you could expect to spend on the extra-curricular activities was helpful, too.
Also, although I wasn't the one paying for it, I think it was an exceptional value which I know made it attractive to my parents. Not only was it less expensive than a traditional resort or hotel but the added benefit of getting to eat what and when you want by someone who knows how to cook was great - the authentic Jamaica meals were fun.
. . . I'm forwarding this to Judy so she can send her pix directly to you - she and my mother were better picture takers than I was but if I have any gems I will send them your way, too. By the way - I saw a mongoose rustling around by a garbage can near an empty lot on Palm Grove -- if I had had my camera with me I could have gotten him! Anyway, maybe next time you're there you can bait him with some tasty leftovers and get a good shot for your website (or maybe you already have one...)
Thanks again for all of your assistance and generosity (the alarm clock especially!) - I feel like you went out of your way for us but maybe all of your guests get such great treatment! It was nice meeting you and hopefully we will see you again if (no; I'll be positive: WHEN!) we return to Silver Sands.
