Dear Prem,
Well two months have passed and I have told countless people what a terrific time we had at Silver Sands but not managed to convey this to you. For this, I apologize.
Where to begin...
First I would like to say that you were right about Angella. She was so helpful and efficient throughout our stay, just really wonderful. Would you pass on a huge "thank you" to her from me for helping us with whatever was needed.
Merlene (hopefully I didn't mis-spell her name) was also wonderful. She took us to Browns town market to buy all the fruit for the guest fruit baskets and was so kind to my grandmother throughout the stay. She also decorated our room with beautiful tropical arrangements the night of the wedding. It was truly special.
Betty, Tashana and Belvit were also great. Belvit fixed a couple of tires for us after a nasty blow-out in the middle of the night. He also helped A LOT with the set up for the wedding. Once I realized that Thelma didn't have lighting and we would be in the dark for the wedding a friend of the family from Jamaica took over, recruited Belvit and a couple other guys, and went to work creating a beautiful night under the stars with paper lanterns and twinkle lights everywhere. The friend of the family said he was very impressed with Belvit's knowledge and work ethic - watch out: I think he was trying to recruit him for a job in Kingston :).
I don't think I have to tell you how we felt about the house but I will anyway :) - gorgeous!
Having the sea kayaks and boogie boards at our disposal was a lot of fun. Going to sleep listening to the waves coming to shore was so relaxing. I didn't realize how tense I was until I felt myself unwinding while down there.
I feel very comfortable speaking for the rest of the group that came down to occupy the other houses. I would be very surprised if you don't get a lot of repeat business from this group. We had folks kicking themselves that they only booked for the four days and not longer. (A few of the people were anticipating a not so positive experience in Jamaica due to reports from friends or the media - Silver Sands really turned them around. I was so happy they got to see the Jamaica that I love!)
The staff in all of the other houses were terrific...
We ended up having the wedding in the park at the top of the hill, which was lovely! The food was absolutely terrific and Thelma did a good job with the flowers. It was a very special weekend for all of us and a wonderful two weeks for my family.
Thank you so much for all of your help throughout the planning process. I think I am your number one promoter and hope to send you a lot more business in the future.
I really can't say enough good things about the whole vacation. All of our friends are in the process of planning our five year wedding anniversary as a reunion in Silver Sands - I think that says a lot!
