Guests' Letters . . . Blue Vista Villa, March '01
Dear Prem, Our visit to Blue Vista Villa surpassed our high expectations. For openers- there is the VIEW. The web site spoke of "nice views" and makes reference to a view of the sea from the bedroom, but we figured that if it was a great view there would be a picture. Right? Wrong! From the moment we walked in we were delighted with the ocean which can be seen from the dinning room and living room as well as the bedroom and from the fabulous patio. We loved watching the ships and the sunrises and sunsets. (If you want to correct the absence of a photo, I could scan one of ours and send it as a jpeg- through we didnt have our good camera.) We were there for a week with our adopted grandchildren aged 6 & 7. The place was ideal for us. Very comfortable and spotless, but not so fancy that you have to worry about the children touching or sitting on this or that. I would describe it as KID FRIENDLY. Ms Inez and her daughter Brenda well deserve the praise posted on the site by other visitors. She was friendly, but not in an ingratiating sort of way. She did not force herself on the kids, but they quickly approached her for information about the fruit trees in the yard which she gladly shared. They hugged her when we left. The food was great. If you like lobster, ask Inez to prepare a lobster omelette. (She makes a little lobster go a long way.) Not being accustomed to having servants, we were a little nervous about how we would feel about being waited upon. It was never a problem- especially because diner was left in the oven when they left at 4:30 so we could eat when and where we wanted to and left the dishes in the sink. The children loved playing in the pool as we relaxed and read. We snorkeled in the morning before breakfast, swam in the late morning and enjoyed the wind built waves in the afternoon. Definitely the most relaxing vacation we have ever had. The CCV staff were very helpful and energetic. Our kids helped cut the birthday cake at Friday party where we met some other families that we were friendly with for the rest of our stay. Several of us were first timers who said "I cant believe I just sent over $1,000 to a place, sight unseen, that I found on the internet." The others were at least as happy as we that they had taken the plunge. If we can save up enough frequent flyer miles for the airfare, we will definitely be contacting you about booking next March. (I am a clergyman and my wife teaches in a private school so we are budget conscious. We have been going to Florida, but we couldnt afford to go there for a whole week. We got so much more pleasure for so mush less money at Silver Sands.) We have and will recommend Silver Sands and CCV to others. You may give out ouremail address (taber@mohawk.net) to persons interested in Blue Vista Villa. Richard Taber
