Guests' Letters
Sorry for the delay in answering your email. I am director of a private college laboratory preschool and it has taken me several days to "catch up" after returning from vacation. I honestly can't give you much feedback for improving service from CCV or about the house because both were so wonderful. From my first contact with you or any of your staff everyone was most helpful. All of my concerns and questions were answered promptly and we were graciously allowed to make some changes in our reservation after friends decided to join us. As I told you earlier, we had been to several Caribbean locations but not Jamaica and it was so nice to have someone to whom to address questions about what to expect and what we would need. The house was perfect for our needs. We were concerned about lack of air conditioning (I know, we are spoiled) but the house is situated and open to beautiful ocean breezes and we were very comfortable. There was plenty of space for everyone to find a quiet spot when wanted, and great for gathering when we wanted to. I can't say enough about Merline, Betty, and Una. What delightful ladies they are! I tried so hard to get one of them to adopt me so I could stay! We never lacked for anything, the food was outstanding, they were so pleasant to be around, and agreeable to anything we wanted. One of the pleasures for us was sitting around the kitchen talking to them about their families and their lives. They were friendly and warm but never obtrusive. The day we left we were doing some shopping in Mobay on the way to the airport and I told them I wanted to find 2 things I had enjoyed in Jamaice.....a blue basket that we always put our clothes and towels in and soon after found them clean and folded, and a magic pitcher that quickly refilled with rum punch within minutes of being emptied (which we did frequently!). I suppose the highest praise for them is that we saw a couple of other properties we were interested in checking out for future stay (mostly Rum Jetty) but quickly decided we did not want to stay anywhere that did not have Miss Merline,Miss Una,and Miss Betty! Burkee, our driver, made us believers in "no problem" because he was always available, always considerate and friendly, and that was always his reply when we asked about doing something. He picked out a couple of great places for us to eat and shop. He took us one day to the market in Trelawny to shop for produce with Betty and that was great. He also discreetly kept an eye on the 3 of us who went, checking on our safety and we did not even know it until we got back to the bus. Thanks for your help with arrangements. We look forward to May 22 of next year and probably an annual May trip. Ann Tankersley P.S. A friend and his extended family are already checking dates and trying to get everyone together for a trip and a coworker has told her family that next summer Silver Sands is to be their vacation destination.
