. . . Nutshell Cottage, March '02
My 15 year-old daughter and I recently returned from 15 days at Silver Sands. (A friend and her daughter spent the first week with us.) We were delighted with the accomodations (Nutshell).
Although not as luxurious as other homes at Silver Sands, Nutshell is a little jewel. It's modest (in comparison), but immaculate. The king-size bed (master bedroom) was extremely comfortable, the room peaceful, the blue-grey paint, perfect.
After a day at the beach, we dipped into the hot-tub and peaked at the ocean through the beautiful shrubs which provided just the right degree of privacy.
I love to hear the ocean... Nutshell is no more than a hundred feet from the beach. The ocean sounds lulled us into a stupor (o.k. the coconut rum helped).
Ms. Enid and Pauline are lovely women who fed us well and tidied up after us (although, being Canadian, we tended to clean up first). I would recommend getting the lobster from the fisherman who comes to the door. Ms. Enid prepares a wicked lobster dinner.
. . . We felt safe, calm and would return in a heartbeat.
