Hi Prem,
Our much anticipated trip to Silver Sands was even better than we ever expected. It was fabulous returning there after so many years (my first trip 1965, my last 1978). It was then, and remains, just an incredibly beautiful spot with very gentle, kind people. It meant so much to me to finally be able to bring my husband and children to Silver Sands so that they too could enjoy what I had known to be one of the happiest times of my life. I can't thank you enough for all your help along the way.
Queens Cottage was ideal for our family. The house was comfortable and offered us the room and privacy needed when traveling with a family of teens. We thoroughly enjoyed being so close to the sea. The view from most rooms was spectacular and the sound of the ocean so incredibly relaxing. Fay and Angella took care of all our needs without hesitation and well beyond what we could have expected (Fay arrived one morning with much sought after creatures for our son Danny--lizards).
Our trip to Silver Sands was not an easy one. Our twelve hour journey to Jamaica began at 3 am. Upon arrival in Montego Bay after much delay, we learned all of our luggage had been lost. Thanks to Mark our driver (who patiently waited for our delayed arrival), then showed us where we could shop for cloths, enjoy a Red Strip, and has us on our way to Silver Sands in time to enjoy a late afternoon swim. As promised, upon arrival Fay and Angella were waiting for us with a much appreciated and excellent meal.
The week was wonderful. Dolphin Cove was definitely a once in a lifetime experience that shouldn't be missed. We all had a terrific and memorable day. Dunn's River Falls was fun too. We went out only one night for dinner . . . We were disappointed with the food and realized how lucky we were to have Fay.
TV reception was quite poor and while we missed the Olympics we shared a lot of laughs playing Pictionary and soaking in the hot tub. We enjoyed the evening entertainment at the club house as well.
The web sight and your prompt e-mails were very helpful and definitely made trip plans easier.
We had a great week and are planning to return the week of February 15, 2003. . .
