. . . Rum Jetty, February '02
Hi, Thanks for the reminder to send you some feedback this has been on my list to do but since returning have not been able to get back into the UK speed of things after having such a lovely relaxing time.
What a fantastic place, we all loved every minute of being in both Jamaica and Rum Jetty. The house was just perfect. The staff made our stay very enjoyable although we all gained weight!!!
I would definitely reccomend the place and yourselves to a friend, the whole thing from booking to actually arriving and the stay were all made very easy - thank you from the whole party of us.
The only reccomendations we would make would be to make some more sun beds available and maybe some speakers from the stereo outside so you are able to hear music in the eating area and on the beach.
The villa staff were extremely accomodating - it may make things easier if it was explained the various ways to shop. Once we got the hang of things we were more than happy to let the ladies to it all for us, but we were not sure what the options were. We found the food and drink very reasonable. (we had plenty of both!)
The office staff were very helpful, the transport we organised with them was very good and our driver was very knowledgeable and informative. We took a trip to Ocho Rios, the Dolphin cove and Dunns River. We booked these things ourselves and it all went fine. We did go on the Party boat in Montego Bay and did not have such an enjoyable experience. It was not worth the money we paid. The trip was very short, there was no atmosphere and the guy in the office who took the money and the booking was most rude and unhelpful - definitely not worth the ride to Montego Bay. (I appreciate this is nothing to do with yourselves - more for other guest's reference)
We walked up to Duncan's one afternoon this was a very enjoyable experience, the locals made us very welcome. We met up with James who had been our driver to Falmouth, he showed us "the way"!! The beer was much cheaper than the complex and we experienced the culture, some rum and sugar cane.What lovely people.
The trip to Falmouth was also a great experience, we actually did some food shopping there - the supermarket was different, fortunately the staff were very helpful! The market was very busy and lots to see! Great.
The trip from the airport was great, we met up with our hosts quickly and easily and the bus was comfortable and the ladies were informative and welcomming after our long journey -(the cold beers made it even better!!! much needed by that stage)
We loved the whole set up, the sound of the lapping waves and tranquility of the private beach made returning to our normal lives very difficult to suffer! The group of 11 of us didnt actually leave the premises for the first 4 days! we were completely satisfied with the surroundings which provided us with the total relaxation required.
Thankyou to yourself and all your staff for making our holiday so enjoyable, one member of our pary is currently planning a return later this year. We all hope to return at some point.
